WHAT IS HDHG?

There is a law in nature that there is only one of everything. Take for instance, these flowers. In a whole field of them, there will not be any two that are the same. This reality is what inspires HDHG design.

Ice dying has the same effect. No matter what, no two items will be the same. In fact there can be significant differences in design. This idea of "one of a kind" combined with practical, sturdy home goods is what HDHG strives to bring to your life.

Meet the Artist

I'm Lisa, and this is Hayden. I am not her owner, but she fills the dog space in my heart.

Using my hands to make things is part of my happiness. Crafting and different artistic endeavors have been in my life since childhood.

The most recent creative journey started with macramé. A number of years ago, me and a friend stumbled upon an amazing indoor flea market in Shenandoah, VA. Among the many treasures I came home with were five big spools of macramé string, dirt cheap. I had no plans for it at the time but if you are a thrifting, flea market/ craft show/ antique fair lover like me, you lean into the bargain and decide later what to do with the purchase.

About four years went by before I made my way to that string. Part of the inspiration came from finding and gathering copious amounts of driftwood along the Potomac River that I immediately wanted to use as dowls for macrame wall hangings. And, that's exactly what I did.

A dozen wall hangings later, I was bored with the lack of color and decided to dye the string.

Three dozen wall hangings later, I thought, “Holy cow! There are all kinds of useful items for the home I could be dying!”
